Experience The Power of Massage
I have been a registered massage therapist since 1994. I am a graduate of the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage here in Austin. I am very experienced in Swedish, Shiatsu, Reflexology, and stretching techniques. I have recently become a certified Ashiatu practitioner as well. I have an affinity for Swedish massage which is a very effective way to reduce the effects of overall stress. Swedish massage improves circulation, recovery time and boosts immune system function. This technique is an effective tool in the control of pain and in creating a sense of relaxation, repose and well-being. I incorporate body-mobilization techniques, stretching and Shiatsu during all of my treatments. Shiatsu is a Japanese finger pressure therapy which involves applying pressure to specific points along meridian lines with the intent to stimulate the flow of ki (energy) and help release stagnation in the body. The client can remain fully clothed during a session. Reflexology is a technique used by ancient Egyptians which involves the application of manual pressure to specific points of the feet called "reflex points" that are believed to correspond to other parts of the body. Reflexology is great for relieving stress. A session lasts 45 minutes. The elderly hold a special place in my heart and they can really benefit from any form of loving bodywork. I have been trained in Geriatric Massage which involves Swedish massage with a very gentle touch and all the considerations this segment of the population requires. If you have an elderly loved-one, you might consider treating them to massage. I will provide my own chair or table and come to your location if not able to come to my office.
Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy
I am a Certified Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapist. Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique using deep compression effleurage strokes that glide over the body. Gravitational force is combined with centrifugal and centripetal movements. This creates a structural change in chronic soft tissue damage. Bars are used above the head for support and balance. This is a very relaxing, therapeutic treatment. Many of the movements help to elongate the spine. It also helps the body's lymphatic system release toxins at a very high rate. The biggest benefit of Ashiatsu is that after a few treatments it will help improve posture and movement while relieving pain. Try it and be surprised at its results.
Essential Oils- The Raindrop Technique®
Want to experience a high frequency rain bath from Mother Earth? Introducing the Raindrop Technique®. Created by Gary Young, ND, after hearing a story from a Lakota Elder about how his people would travel north into Canada into the Saskatchewan and Manitoba areas to experience and utilize the healing energies of the Aurora Borealis. The Lakota utilized the energy of the phenomenon by standing under the very loud and electrical display of the Lights with their hands up, mentally "breathing in" the energy through their fingers, down into their body, and then mentally pushing it up through the spine. Gary, inspired by the story, and with his understanding of energy medicine and knowledge of electrical frequencies found in essential oils, created the Raindrop Technique®. Nine different oils are first applied to the "spinal" reflex points on the feet. The same oils are activated by dropping them on the spine from about 12 inches in the air (hence the feeling of raindrops) then "feathered" up the spine by the therapist using the back of the finger nails. Combined with massage techniques, stretches and finally an ending with a "lymphatic pump", you've experienced hydration at its best. Essential oils have been called the "lifeblood of plants" and have been used for thousands of years by ancient cultures to promote wellness and longevity. Being of very high frequency, they elevate our bodily frequencies, helping us to stay healthy and immune from disease. Considered to be one of nature's most powerful antioxidants, essential oils help to cleanse free radicals from our systems. They work in our limbic systems to help clear negative feelings and blocked emotions, thus eliminating the root causes of many diseases and conditions. Most appealing about using essential oils is the fact that they support and increase our intuitive powers and sharpen our spiritual awareness, which is why religions all over the world diffuse the aromas of essential oils as incense in their sanctuaries in order to facilitate effective meditation and prayer. |
