Reiki is a Japanese healing art synthesized into being in the late 1800's by a Japanese Buddhist monk named Mikao Usui. Usui had an intense desire to work with medicine and methods of healing. He studied Chinese medicine and ancient spiritual texts from India and developed the concept of Universal Life Energy. He believed in the healing power of the Energy to harmonize body, mind and spirit.

A Reiki session takes about an hour, and the practitioner places her hands on the 7 energy centers, or chakras, as well as major organs. Receiving Reiki is typically a very relaxing, soothing and balancing experience.

The Course is a 3-in-one book described by many as a self-paced "spiritual psychotherapy" tool. The Course both diagnoses the problem and offers the solution for our search for inner peace. Blending modern psychology, Eastern thought and by purifying Christianity, the Course is a very practical spiritual theology. The Course explains that our inner malady lies deep within us and that it is not an unfair conflict between ourselves and outside forces. It is a conflict in our own mind, between our freely chosen beliefs and our own best interests.

The Course's central teaching is forgiveness-the relinquishing of attack upon others in favor of love. In the choice to forgive we shine healing light deep into the hidden core of our brother's pain and our own, releasing us both as one into the reality of love. In the choice to forgive, we can escape all the pain and suffering of the world, we can bring healing to the hearts of others and we can be reunited with God.

What are our "obstacles to Peace"?

That which separates us from God, from our Higher Selves, from our perfect essence. It is composed of the emotional charges that hold the patterns, assumptions, traumas, conditioning, judgments, low self-esteem, guilt, fear, pain, ill health and everything that limits your joyful expression here on Earth. You might picture a wall that is formed and is impossible to remove. But, the Oneness Blessing blows a hole in the wall allowing the light of God to reach through and anchor Love, which is our true essence.

The Oneness Blessing is a neurological, intelligent, electrical energy. It is a gift from the Divine to give us the extra boost out of our conditioned-from-the-past, fight-flight mind and into our Higher Mind, because we can't do it by ourselves. The Divine has given the gift of this energy at this time to aid us in our necessary evolution. Once the peripheral lobes of the brain are deactivated and the fontal lobes along with the septum pellucidum (in the center of the brain) are activated through the Oneness Blessing, the higher brain is our experience.
